Pouf Ottoman & Son

It’s Saturday morning. The first day of Spring break for my kids, and I thought they’d sleep in. WRONG. I was awoken by Lennon, my awesome son, who greeted me with, “Good morning, mommy! It’s Spring break!” **Ugh** Eventually, I dragged myself out of bed, into the kitchen, and said hello to my coffee maker. I don’t have anything brilliant to say. No words of wisdom or parenting advice this morning. I just wanted to share a picture of my happy boy and a pouf ottoman that I knitted for a dear friend’s nursery.

When she asked me, I had no idea what she was talking about. I had to look it up. If you Google “pouf ottoman”, you’ll see that they’re crazy expensive! I’m just learning how to knit and said yes before I knew what I was getting myself into. I love a challenge. This was amazingly easy & fun to make. The hardest part was figuring out what to stuff it with and getting it closed! This is knitted with 2 strands of super soft and durable wool blend yarn held together at the same time. I used 3 brand new pillows, 2 standard and 1 memory foam, stuffed into an orange t-shirt purchased at the craft store. It took me several minutes of pulling and tightening to get it closed properly, and I quickly tied a knot before everything popped out again. Here it is and here he is. Bed head and all!
